Jotan Technology specializes in servers, storage arrays, and server components — high-quality refurbished enterprise gear at competitive prices. We’ve built our reputation with data centers, resellers and licensed brokers, and our track record on eBay led us to open our own storefront.
We also sanitize drives. Every drive that moves through our facility is either erased to NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 1 and verified, or physically destroyed — with a signed certificate either way. The same standard applies whether the drive is ours or yours.

Straight answers before you call
The things people actually ask us first.
Do I pay you, or do you pay me?
It depends what you have. If the equipment still carries resale value — newer servers, storage arrays, name-brand systems — we sanitize the drives at no charge and pay you for the hardware. If it has little value, or you’re keeping it, there’s a flat per-drive sanitization rate instead.
Most real jobs are a mix. We price the valuable equipment one way and the rest the other, then show you the net. Quotes are free, and we’ll tell you honestly when the answer is “this isn’t worth much.”
Are you R2 or NAID AAA certified?
No, and we don’t represent ourselves as certified. We work to NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 1 and can produce the evidence for any individual drive we’ve handled.
If your compliance program requires a certified vendor, say so at the start and we’ll tell you straight away whether we’re a fit rather than waste your time.
What do I actually get back?
A signed certificate for every drive, naming the serial number, model, capacity, method used, NIST level achieved, verification result, operator and date. For any drive that couldn’t be sanitized, a certificate of destruction instead.
Records stay retrievable by serial number for seven years. Ask us in 2033 what happened to a particular drive and we can answer.
What media do you handle?
SATA and SAS hard drives and SSDs, including M.2 SATA. Media inside enclosures, caddies and USB adapters. Drives still installed in servers — including the ones that hide: rear and mid-plane cages, internal M.2, boot-optimized storage cards, and drives behind RAID controllers.
We don’t currently take NVMe, magnetic tape, optical media, mobile devices, or flash soldered to a board. If your lot contains those, tell us up front.
How long does it take?
Usually days rather than weeks. We work in batches rather than one drive at a time, and being local means your equipment isn’t spending a week in transit each way. Pickup can be arranged for larger lots, and you’re welcome to deliver drives in person.
What happens to a drive that fails?
It is never released for resale. Drives that fail, can’t be read, or whose sanitization can’t be verified are recorded, segregated and destroyed — hard drives crushed on site, flash sent to a downstream destruction partner for shredding. You get a certificate of destruction naming the serial.
Do you buy whole servers, or only drives?
Both, and whole systems are usually more interesting to us. We’re a hardware broker first — servers, storage arrays and components are the main business — so a rack of retired equipment is generally worth more to you through us than a box of loose drives.
